Abstract:

The primary goal of Vehicular Ad hoc Network is to provide life safety on the road.To achieve this, vehicles should make full use of safety messages. In this paper, the safety messages are divided into two types:Heart Heat Safety Message and Emergency Alarm Safety Message. We introduce the traffic flow theory and discuss the safety application based on the Heart Beat Safety Message in the Free-flow phase. The impact of successful data transmission rate and frequency transmission by Heart Beat Safety Message on the safety level is emphasized. We make the mathematical modeling from the point of probability theory.Simulation shows that improving the successful transmission rate can enhance the safety level and that a higher transmission frequency of safety messages also guarantees the safety without causing net congestion.

Key words: vehicular Ad hoc Net work;safety message;successful transmission rate;safety level
