Design of an Intelligent Data Acquisition System for the Pointer Instrument

Abstract:

The system designed with ADSP-BF533 + FPGA EP1C6T144C8 architecture achieves image acquisition,target identification and meter reading,USB transmission and RS485 bus transmission network function.DSP processes the collected image gray-scale transformation,edge detection and Hough transform,to achieve recognition of the pointer instrument dial,pointer positioning and calculating the reading,and to achieve data broadcast of the pointer reading and storage.FPGA accepts DSP's instructions to achieve acquisition and control of the COMS camera,scanning the keyboard and other device chip-select signal generation.Using SQLSERVER database technology programs for host computer can manage the measuring data and backup.
