Abstract:

Whereas artificial insemination has arguably been the most important management tool leading to improved herd productivity, the study has been focused on the technique of cryopreservation of boar semen.A viable cryopreservation semen sample is judged by the total number of spermatozoa (sperm) in the sample and the motility of the sperm.According to the rapid detection of semen quality,a low cost and reusable system for screening semen samples based on the Quartz Crystal Microbalance (QCM) and Universal Frequency to Digital Converter (UFDC-1) is designed.Data is presented that caused by the same porcine semen samples using the system and a commercial frequency counter. The results show that it can offers a low-cost sensor system suitable for screening a semen sample at the point of use on a farm.
