Abstract:

A dynamic TDMA protocol (CS-TDMA) utilizing channel sense is developed to solve the great waste of channel source when traffic is not uniform between all of the nodes in the TDMA network.The CS-TDMA protocol is based on the TDMA protocol,and the node counts the number of packets from other nodes for estimating their traffic.When the timeslot is remainder,an ATS (access to send) message is sent to the busiest node,informing the node to send data until the timeslot is exhausted.Simulation results show that CS-TDMA protocol has better performance than TDMA protocol in the parameters of end-to-end delay,network throughput and message delivery.The advantage in delay is especially prominent when the traffic has a big gap between nodes.
