Abstract:
A compact low insertion loss and sharp transition band stepped impedance microstrip low-pass filter is designed based on elliptic function low-pass filter prototype to overcome the larger size and the slower transition band attenuation for the traditional microstrip low-pass filter.The size of the filter structure is calculated by some formulas and is simulated and optimized by simulation software ADS and HFSS.The final filter has been fabricated and measured.The measured results are in good agreement with the simulated ones.It verifies the feasibility of the design scheme.
