Study of height measurement technology for the vehicle-mounted millimeter wave radar in the time-domain

摘要:

针对当前一般的车载雷达不具备目标高度测量能力,或是实现成本高昂的问题,提出了一种在毫米波段下使用单天线时域信息的单散射点目标高度测量方法。该方法利用了车载环境下地面反射后多径信号与直达信号干涉产生的多径效应,在汽车行进过程中获取不同距离时待测目标的回波功率,通过插值使采样点在距离倒数上均匀化,进而使用快速傅里叶变换提取出目标的高度信息。首先推导了车载环境下多径效应存在的条件,构建了毫米波段下通过地面的镜面反射而产生多径效应的几何模型,进而拓展到目标回波的数学模型;其次,详细分析了可能对目标高度测量产生影响的因素,如车载雷达的安装高度、采样间隔和距离等,并针对性地提出了多种优化和改进建议;最后,通过仿真以及模拟高度测量实验获得的实测数据结果显示,使用该方法对单散射点目标进行高度测量具有可行性。相较于现有方法,该方法实现车载环境单散射点目标高度测量有着结构简单,成本低廉的优势。

Abstract:

In response to the current situation that general vehicle-mounted radars either do not have the ability to measure height or are expensive in doing it,this paper proposes a single scattering point target height measurement method using time-domain information on the single antenna in the millimeter band.The method utilizes the multipath propagation generated by the interference between the ground reflected multipath signal and the direct signal in the vehicle environment,obtains the echo power of the target at different distances while the vehicle is moving,uniformizes the sampling points in the inverse of the distance by interpolation,and then extracts the height information of the target using the fast Fourier transform.In this paper,first,the conditions for multipath propagation in the vehicle environment are derived,the geometric model through the specular reflection of the ground in the millimeter band is constructed,and then the mathematical model of multipath propagation is derived;second,the factors that may affect the measurement of the height of the target,such as the installation height of the radar,the sampling interval and distance,are analyzed in detail,and various suggestions for optimization are proposed.Finally,the results of simulations and the real data obtained from experiments show that it is feasible to use this method for the measurement of the height of single scattering point targets.Compared with the existing methods,this method has the advantages of easy-structuring and cost-effectiveness in achieving the measurement of the height of a single scattering point target in vehicle environment.
