Abstract: During the infrared image target detection, a great deal of data needs to be stored and processed with high speed. An image processing system based on DSP and FPGA is presented in this paper. After the discussion of the LoG filter and its design, a detailed description of how to realize the infrared target detection in FPGA through the LoG filtering though FPGA follows. With the use of FPGA in target detection, high-speed can be reached to satisfy the real-time desire of the infrared image processing system.
