Abstract: To reduce the contention access and polling overhead of the User-dependent Perfect-scheduling Multiple Access (UPMA) protocol, a modified scheme is proposed to allocate the wireless resource adaptively with the user number and traffic load, and a theoretical analysis model has been presented in this paper. The calculated results show that the proposed scheme has a high throughput, low message delay and small message dropping probability.
