Abstract: A reconfigurable wire antenna is optimized by the method of moment (MoM) combined with the genetic algorithm (GA). The switches of the reconfigurable antenna are regarded as loads, and the Sherman-Morrison-Woodbury equation is used to accelerate the calculation of the impedance matrix equation in MoM. The optimized results indicate that the combination of GA and the MoM is a very effective method to optimize the reconfigurable wire antennas, and the speed of optimization is improved over 3~4 orders of magnitude.
