Algorithms for parameters and sequence estimation of the PN code in long code DS-SS signals

Abstract: To investigate the parameters and sequence estimation of the PN code in long code direct sequence spread spectrum (DS-SS) signals, the algorithms including the second order moment of the autocorrelation estimator, the maximum norm approach and matrix eigenvalue decomposition are introduced. New results are deduced for long code DS-SS signals in contrast to short code ones. The methods for estimation of the PN code period, timing offset, symbol period and spread spectrum sequence are proposed. Simulation results show the efficiency of the proposed methods.
