Abstract:

Underwater combat fields are complex in modern sea environment. In order to improve an operational efficiency, it is necessary to improve the ability of target identification in the underwater vehicle homing system. Main composing and implementation method of acoustic imaging are introduced in this paper, which is used in the underwater vehicle. Real characteristics of a target will be obtained for forming the acoustical image of the target. Quadrature demodulation, plural multi-beam formation, beam-forming interpolation, image processing technology are used to form the acoustic image, which helps the underwater vehicle to recognize the crucial part of the target in complex combat fields, which lay a solid foundation for the underwater vehicle to attack the target effectively.

Key words: underwater vehicle, acoustical imaging, target identification, beam-forming interpolation, parameters estimation
