Abstract: clutter rejection is an important problem in radar signal processing. A new method for the design of the time-varying cascaded MTI filters used in radar clutter rejection is presented in this paper. Based on the analysis of the Eigenvector method used for the design of the first filter, the new method first obtains the Doppler frequency of the moving clutter by using the nearly linear phase of the first filter. Then the weight coefficients of the second filter are obtained by the use of the table of the weight coefficients. Compared with the zero design method, the proposed method has a low computation complexity. Therefore, the proposed method is easy to implement for the practical system in real time. The design examples are presented to show that the method is effective.
