Study of the dual-band internal handset antenna with a new structure

Abstract: A new novel structure of miniaturized dual-band internal handset antenna is presented. Emphasis is placed on the characteristics of its Voltage Standing Ratio(VSWR) and beam pattern which are investigated by both the numerical technique of the moment method(MoM) and the Dyadic Greens function method and experiments. The results show the validity of the method and that the antenna with features of a dual band, a low VSWR and a low Specific Absorb Ratio(SAR) will find wide applications in handset systems.
