An algorithm for image enhancement based on shock filters and anisotropic diffusion

Abstract: A new scheme is presented by the coupling between shock filters and anisotropic diffusion. The main idea is to add some sort of anisotropic diffusion term with an adaptive weight between the shock and diffusion processes. The method can not only well restrain noise but also enhance edge and keep much more details of an image. The filter is directly given in the form of discretization so that it is easy to implement and the processing time is greatly saved.
