Study of the effect of the dirstribution of pumping light on the diode pumped solid-state laser

Abstract: This paper discusses how the distribution of pumping light affect the diode pumped solid-state laser. It has been found that the dissymmetry and radium of the pumping beam are very important factors related to the determination of the threshold, output power, slope efficiency and the oscillating laser' shape. Calculation also reveals that the factor M2 is not adequate to appraising a pumping system's quality.
