Blind channel estimation of SC-FDE systems by exploiting zero-padding: time domain approach

Abstract: A subspace based blind channel estimation approach for zero-padding single carrier frequency domain equalization (ZP-SC-FDE) systems is presented, which estimates the frequency-selective channel blindly in the time domain, based on zero-padding technology. Equivalence of the proposed method and the frequency domain estimation method proposed previously is proved. However the time domain method is simpler than the frequency domain method. Computer simulations show that the performance of proposed method is better than that of conventional oversampling methods, and it is robust to over-estimated channel order.
