摘要：

在IEEE802.11网络中高效地切换是多媒体实时应用的一个关键要求。IEEE802.11r快速切换协议使切换时延得到了有效限制。但整个切换过程仍无法满足实时应用的需求。文中综述了无线局域网快速切换的研究,分析了IEEE802.11r对整个切换过程的影响,并介绍了快速切换研究工作。

关键词: 无线局域网, IEEE802.11r协议, 快速切换

Abstract:

The efficient handover in the IEEE802.11 networks is the key requirement for real-time multimedia support in such networks。The handover delay is significantly limited with the Fast Transition protocol introduced in IEEE802.11r amendment。However,the whole handoff process still can not meet the needs of real-time applications.This paper makes a full-scan introduction to the research on fast handoff in Wireless LANs,analyzes the impact of IEEE802.11r amendment in the entire handoff process,and introduces research work on the fast handoff.
