Abstract: A new method for estimating spatial narrow-band signal directions in the presence of the spatially nonstationary noise with unknown covariance is presented. An estimate of the colored noise covariance matrix is given. The received data for parameter estimation is then prewhitened using the estimated noise covariance, thus overcoming the highly biased estimates. Furthermore, its performances are confiremed by computer simulations.
