Design of TAWS Simulator

Abstract:

Terrain Awareness and Warning System (TAWS) can effectively prevent accidents caused by Controlled Flight into Terrain (CFIT) or severe windshear,thus greatly improving the safety of civil aviation.Currently,the research and application of TAWS is relatively mature abroad,while the domestic one is still in its infancy.Based on the study of the Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System (EGPWS),a design of the TAWS simulator is proposed,followed by the detailed implementation of the functional modules,to provide a strong support for the avionics system simulation,testing,and validation and interface control document (ICD) design for sophisticated avionics systems.
